And finally, the last, and my personal favorite. Cooking, making all the hearty and delicious autumn foods, like varieties of pie, spice bread, chicken noodle soup, beef stew, polenta.... they may not all seem very "autumny" but these are the foods that I think of when I think of a warm house with an aroma that fills you before you even sit down at the table.
Note: not everything mentioned here has to be done with the whole family, I was once told, "The best gift parents can give their children, is a good marriage." So go, take some time with your loved one and count the colors on the leaves, jump in them if you feel the urge, and thank God for this beautiful time of year.
"I've never known anyone yet who doesn't suffer a certain restlessness when autumn rolls around... We're all eight years old again and anything is possible." --Sue Grafton
